It all started when a good friend who worked at a guitar shop donated a few broken guitars to me. I decided to breath new life into them by tuning them into a canvas.

STAINED GLASS GRATEFUL DEAD GUITARS

These stained glass acoustic guitars were created for a display at the Boulder Museum about live music in the area. These guitars flanked a wall with photos of Jerry and the Dead playing in Boulder. The rose guitar represents the song “Ramble on Rose” and the sunflower is “China Cat Sunflower.” The sunflower guitar is available here and the rose guitar is no longer available.

CROSSROADS CUSTOM MOSAIC ELECTRIC GUITAR

I created this custom guitar for a lovely client who had a large guitar collection and the entire basement of his home was music themed down to the toilet paper. He wanted a guitar to embody his love for Colorado, his home in Breckenridge and overcoming his life struggles. His favorite song is Crossroads by Cream and we chose to include some lyrics hidden under translucent glass. The wooden arches symbolize his home, the sun and sunset symbolize the Colorado flag, the black fading in at the top symbolize life’s struggles that are pierced by the positive sun rays. We chose a red guitar so that it will act as a frame along the edges. I chose black psychedelic glass with hearts to symbolize his wife.
