CELEBRATING THE IMPERFECTIONS

I create intricately crafted mosaics by puzzling together unexpected mediums including precisely cut stained glass, crystals and found objects that combine to compose these textural compositions. Smashing a pristine piece of glass and giving the broken pieces a new life brings me great satisfaction. I reposition each delicate piece of glass together to create a greater composition as if I am painting with glass. These works interact with natural light and as viewers move amongst them, they shine and reflect their surroundings. I aim to take a modern approach to the ancient art of mosaics and surprise the viewer with something unexpected.

Custom designed mosaic composition for the high end salon in Louisville, Colorado. Designed to capitalize on the beautiful natural light of the space and play off of the other vertical salon mirrors throughout the space. This piece interacts with the customers as they walk into the salon to greet them at the door and let their mind wander as they wait for their appointment.
