I stumbled upon this gorgeous view from Last Dollar Road in Telluride during the colorful fall season. It took my breath away so much that I pulled my car off to the side of the road and sat for hours. It was a stormy day and the sky was parting after the evening rain. The dynamic sky cast beautiful highlights and shadows on the mountain peaks below, almost carving them out. I stood in awe and watched the elk gather below the sunset, calling to each other. This beautiful spontaneous Colorado moment spoke to me as I missed my dinner reservation and let any other cares melt away with the storm. This may be the first smaller study for a larger painting. 

The painting continues onto the edges of this 20X20” stretched canvas so it can be enjoyed from every angle.
